At first sight, nothing unusual. Mr Blair has been in power for 10 years, and Chirac for over 12; the rotation of leaders is the essence of any well-functioning political system……………………….
Mr Blair did not have to retire. He won the last elections – handsomely – and could have remained in power for another three years. He may be unpopular at the moment, but his likely successor – British Finance Minister Gordon Brown – is not very popular either. Yet, it is off with Mr Blair’s head, mainly because his ruling Labour Party needs a “fresh face” in preparation for the next general election. Mr Chirac’s position is slightly different He has completed his second presidential term. But he could have run for the presidency again; he didn’t, mainly because he was considered too old for the job.

တကယ္ေတာ့ က်ေနာ္တို႔ရဲ႕ စစ္ေခါင္းေဆာင္မ်ားဟာ ႏႈတ္ထြက္ဖို႔ မလိုဘူး။ ဘာလို႔လဲဆိုေတာ့ နဂိုတည္းက ဒီအာဏာႀကီးလိုခ်င္လို႔ပဲ အတင္း လုယူထားတဲ့ဟာကို။ အဲဒါေၾကာင့္ လူႀကိဳက္နည္းတာလည္း ဂရုစိုက္စရာ မလိုဘူး။ ဘာလို႔လဲဆိုေတာ့ နဂိုတည္းက ဘယ္သူမွမွ မႀကိဳက္ၾကဘဲ။ “မ်က္ႏွာသစ္” လည္းမလိုဘူး။ တေယာက္တည္း အုပ္ခ်ဳပ္ခ်င္လို႔ အာဏာရွင္လုပ္ေနတာ။ မဟုတ္မွေတာ့ ၁၉၉၀ တည္းက အာဏာစြန္႔လိုက္မေပါ့လို႔။ အိုလာၿပီ ဆိုတာေတာ့ လာမေျပာနဲ႔။ မအိုခင္မ်ား နားခ်င္ရင္ Road Map ၇ ခ်က္ဆိုၿပီး လူၾကားေကာင္းယံု ေအာ္ေနပါ့မလား။ ခုထိေတာင္ နံပါတ္ ၁ အခ်က္ၿပီးေသးတာ မဟုတ္ဘူး။ ေမွ်ာ္လင့္မေနနဲ႔။ သနားတယ္……………………။
